giants baseball forecast. . >>> police in englewood in los angeles county are searching for a gunman who opened fire on a family inside their home early this morning. authorities say a father shielding his four-year-old son was fatally shot. the boys also died a short time later. two other children and their mother were taken to the hospital for gunshot winds. police say the gunmen shot -- set the home on fire. there is no word on a motive. >>> a bus driver was killed and dozens of passengers hurt after a crash in arizona. the bus crashed near kingman, arizona not far from the hoover dam. authorities say the driver had a seizure or a heart attack which caused him to lose control of the bus. forty-eight passengers were injured and sick for phone to loss at -- las vegas with serious injuries. most were tourists. >> homicide investigators in vallejo a1 was killed and another wounded in a drive-by shooting. it happened on our construct -- arkansas street. police say they found two men with gunshot winds. authorities say 20-year-old mauricio dominguez died from his injuries. the other man i

this stretch of the route from los angeles international airport to the california science center. now, what we can show you is, okay, we have the wing that's really close to that tree. if we look over on the other side of the street, you can now see the platform starting to move. but you can see it's almost out of room on the other side of the street. so it's a very, very delicate maneuver. this platform that it's on, each of the wheels can move individually. it can go side to side and backwards and forwards so they're trying to reposition it right now to get around that tree and try to save it. we have asked a couple of the workers here who are managing this whole process whether they're going to cut the tree down or not. they say they don't know. they have tried throughout the process to save as many trees as possible. 400 have been cut down along the route. they'll be replaced 2 for 1, but some of the residents of the communities have been upset because they don't want to lose any trees. we're still watching the process and we're going to see whether it gets by the tree. you can watch as th

had the rain yesterday in los angeles and areas in vegas and even san diego. now that storm system is beginning to push into arizona. numerous areas of rain, even thunderstorms in arizona overnight. phoenix is looking okay. over toward flagstaff, numerous areas of rain. if you're doing that beautiful drive, you will hit some wet weather. a few thunderstorms popping up on the border of nevada and arizona. that's the storm system we've been tracking all week lodge. it's going to be a big storm in the middle of the country. we're watching for the first time a front approaching the northwest. this is a weak one compared to the two or three you'll see over the next couple days. this is the first measurable rain in many areas. you can see the green in the radar is all rain. we're not watching snow levels that will be trouble with this storm system. over the next couple days, snow levels will come down a little bit, especially as we come into monday. this is the one we're dealing with now. the next batch of moisture on saturday and another on sunday. it's one after another here as we begi

doj/hhs medicare fraud strike forces are operating in nine locations nationwide -- miami, los angeles, detroit, houston, a brooklyn, baton rouge, tampa, chicago, and dallas. since the first strike force in 2007, the teams have charged 1500 defendants for falsely building -- billing medicare for $4.8 billion. those convicted received an average prison sentence of four years. in addition to disrupting health care fraud schemes and advancing prosecutions, we are working to return precious funds to the public coffers. since 2009, we have recovered $10.6 billion. over the same period, for every dollar spent on combating fraud, we have returned more than $7 to the united states treasury, the medicare trust fund, and others. however, as today's announcement proves, we are not yet satisfied. in the fight against fraud, we will never become complacent. we are taking the fight to a new level by expanding engagement with, state, local and tribal partners and streamlining federal investigations and prosecutions and by leveraging resources and expertise. in each of our strike force locations, we a

running and they will carry passengers during the commute. >>> well, the famous hollywood sign in los angeles is getting a face-lift. the first time in almost 35 years. our reporter lauren savan is live near the landmark right now. that famous sign, what are they -- what are they doing to it? >> well, you know, it's one of the most iconic signs in the world. and they say it's been 35 years since it has had it's last refurbishing. well, they starting today, they are going to do an ex-- they are going to do an extensive cleaning. they are going to strip it, power wash it, prime it and repaint it. unlike most hollywood stars that get face-lifts. they are gonna do the front and the back. this will take eight to ten weeks. it will go through about 275 gallons of paint. 110 gallons of primer. when it is done, it will become fresh and new for generations to come. this sign has come around since 1923. that's when it was put up by -- but back in 1949, they took off the land part, it became the iconic hollywood sign and it has been touched up here and there throughout the years. but it was not
